The New York Giants have waived rookie
safety Chad Jones with the intention of placing him on the reserve list.
Jones was recently released from a New York hospital after a serious car
accident on June 29. If he clears waivers, he will be placed on the reserve
list.
Jones was involved in the accident June 25 in New Orleans and suffered broken
bones in his left leg and ankle, requiring eight hours of surgery at LSU
Public Hospital to improve the blood flow in his left foot. He was later
transferred to a hospital in New York.
To replace him on the roster, the Giants were awarded linebacker Alex Hall off
waivers from Philadelphia. The Eagles waived Hall on Wednesday after acquiring
him from Cleveland in a trade earlier this offseason.
